At Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., we are offering an exciting opportunity for a Field Application Engineer specializing in analytical research & development, with a focus on lithium-ion battery applications. As a highly qualified scientist or engineer, you will collaborate with a team of specialists and play a pivotal role in advancing our business while making a meaningful impact on both academic and industrial battery communities.
Field Application Engineer, Battery Scientist (MS, PhD신입가능)
- This role supports analytical experimentation and technical documentation across all analytical products serving the battery industry.
- The position primarily focuses on national and public R&D projects related to the battery sector.
- Key responsibilities include hands-on laboratory work (approximately 70%) and financial documentation via the RCMS system (approximately 30%).
- The role is based in Suseo, with regular business trips to Ochang; customer engagement is mainly centered around battery-related clients.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and proactively address customers’ unmet needs through the delivery of robust and effective analytical solutions.
- Design, execute, and interpret analytical experiments and methodologies to uncover causative relationships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to maintain a competitive edge in R&D and next-generation battery technologies.
- Build and sustain strong, balanced customer relationships that consistently meet or exceed expectations.
- Stay current with state-of-the-art analytical technologies and translate technical findings into actionable insights for customer collaboration.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in chemical engineering, polymer science, materials science (organic/inorganic), energy engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preference: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in R&D, electrochemistry, materials science, or analytical work related to lithium-ion battery technologies (strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and effective communication capabilities.
- Highly motivated, well-organized, and technically proficient.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Korean.
