Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What You Will do in This Role

  • Ensure that goods, equipment, material and services are procured in accordance with specified requirements, as to quantity, quality standards and comply with relevant OHS&E standards, by the specified date and at best price to meet project requirements.
  • Ensures that goods, materials or services purchased are of the quality required by the customer and that all economies are exercised whilst achieving schedules to meet project requirements.
  • Review project requirements and investigate sources of supply from both local and overseas markets, develop alternate sources and report on new materials and equipment.
  • Negotiate major contracts on behalf of the company. Analyse quotations received and recommend suppliers from whom goods, materials or services are to be purchased.
  • Monitor and control vendor performance to meet project schedule requirements.
  • Prepare and approve orders and contracts in conjunction with Project Managers.
  • Control inventory of purchased materials to company targets.
  • Approve payment of invoices received, which are in accordance with orders placed. Manage the process of reconciling invoices that do not match.
  • Prepare financial data relating to the purchasing function and report on trends and availability of goods and materials.
  • Ensure efficient and timely administration of records and files related to the function.
  • Additional tasks and responsibility assigned by Senior Management.
  • Coordinate and contribute to cost reduction programs.
  • Work with procurement team to manage and measure savings and meet Company targets.
  • Liaising with Project Managers on project shipping plans with understanding of project schedules.
  • Tracking PO status and local deliveries in Korea to ensure on time delivery to project sites.
  • Working with shipping coordinator, local Customs agent and customer’s logistics team, to ensure smooth import process for oversea shipments.
  • Ensure local suppliers understand our technical requirements and necessary communication between technical team and suppliers by translating technical terms/specifications from English to Korean.


What We are Looking For:

  • Practical purchasing experience required, preferably in a technical project environment.
  • Strong track record in negotiating (achieving a win-win).
  • Strong customer focus (both internal and external).
  • Strong Team Player (at all levels).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and organising skills whilst being “hands on”.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Commercially aware of standard terms and tender document detail.
  • Strong analytical skills/problem solver.
  • Knowledge of international trading.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • English proficiency is required.Work rights in Korea is mandatory.
