Overview
The Field Application Specialist is part of the Life Sciences Group (LSG) within Bio-Rad Korea and is an important part of the company’s total value proposition.
The Field Application Specialist is responsible for providing remote pre and post sales technical support of Bio-Rad Flow antibody products (Flow Cytometry + Antibodies) (50%)
and Genomics products (50%) to customers and field personnel, as well as relaying customer feedback to the organization.
Responsibilities
- Working independently or with Sales Representatives, the Field Application Specialist calls on customer labs to provide pre and post sales technical support on our flow cytometers and Genomics and associated reagents.
- Provide customer support on technical issues by utilizing all available resources, and escalate issues or problems.
- Participate in frequent training on products and continuing education on new applications and technologies to remain at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge.
- Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in Customer Relationship Management system (SFDC).
- Summarize trends and technology as technical tips, FAQ’s and troubleshooting guides.
- Recommend changes to knowledge databases, website, and other company-managed databases of technical information.
- Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute to department meetings.
- May present technical and product information at trade shows and in customer field visits.
- Participate in additional special team or individual projects.
- Frequent travel may be required for the position
- The FAS is often involved in experimental design, assay design, and reporting of results.
- The position will cover Biopharma and Academic accounts in the entire Korea.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: M.S. in life sciences or chemistry or a similar field.
- Experience with assay and instrument troubleshooting.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with multi-color flow cytometry and genomics, including sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis is required.
- Requires in depth knowledge of Antibodies and Immunoassays and Molecular work.
- Ability to partner effectively as part of a team to solve problems, negotiate solutions and arrive at a consensus.
- Research experience preferred
- Proven ability to quickly learn large amounts of new, complex technical information.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to customers and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Problem solving ability.
- A minimum two-year commitment to this role is required due to the extensive up-front training needed to fully support our expansive product line.
