As a Video Engineer, you will have a responsibility to 1. develop a web-based API server for managing ODK Media’s digital assets, 2. improve overall video quality, such as improving video quality, reducing buffering, etc, 3. optimize trans-coding performance.
You will communicate with other teams to improve services.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop media management pipelines. Such as organizing media metadata or automating trans-code videos
- Collaborate with other teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Research and improve video qualities and streaming experiences
- Optimize S3 storage pricing
- Find and fix bugs in legacy codes and pipelines
- Maintain code quality, automation, and documentation of projects
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of work experience as a Software Engineer
- Experience in using Python and related frameworks (Django, Flask, etc.)
- Experience in using SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience developing web-based REST API servers
PREFERRED
- Advanced skill level with Python, Django, and REST API
- Solid hands-on experiences with AWS cloud technologies. Especially, AWS S3, and Batch
- Experience with FFmpeg or libav for transcoded media
- Basic understanding of digital media (e.g., media container, codec)
- Experience with A/B testing
- Knowledge or experience with designing large-sized file transfers or managing pipelines. (e.g., uploading, downloading, fault preventing)
- Professional working proficiency in English
